In my 25+ years’ marketing experience I’ve worked for a growing telecoms PLC, creative studios, small design agencies, in-house teams, retailers, wholesalers, start-ups and established organisations across the UK and EMEA and witnessed many common issues – and sucessess too.

Well…no.  These are output channels and reminds me of a famous quote;

“Putting tactics before strategy is the noise before defeat.”

What’s more important than websites it to firstly figure out why you exist, what you are saying and who you are saying it to.

It’s a common trap for businesses to build a website then consider marketing’s role is to keep it updated and online – and perhaps provide some flyers for an event or two.

That same businesses may then wonder why their marketing isn’t as effective as they want it to be.
