Personally, I love it. Just because someone struggles to articulate their idea doesn’t make it a bad idea. I’ve found that when I play the role of interpreter and then architect, the relationship with the client is stronger, more respectful – and yields much better outcomes for us both.

So for anyone out there wanting to speak with an external resource (hello!) – don’t think an incomplete thought process is a challenge.
Instead, consider it an opportunity. It might just be the perfect time to pick up the phone.
